Just to get the word out, Friday the DWR has shortend some of the units. These areas will not open unti Oct. 21st. the biggest areas are Nebo, south slope of the Uintas you can check the DWR websight under Latest news.

Those areas were closed the last 11 days of the bow hunt as well.

It is not necessarily the "Latest News". The shorter season dates for these units are also listed in the 2009 Utah Big Game Guidebook.

I just found out about this today. I muzzleloader hunted And did not pay too much attention to the new dates. but my wife is hunting central nebo area and its a good thing i found out we would have been there on saturday. I wonder how many people dont know and will be out. I hope they have some signs at the entrances of those areas .

They do have signs posted at the mouth of all the canyons. Keep in mind that for the rifle hunt the five day units are the last five days of the hunt this year instead of the first like the muzzleloader season.
