I went up that way earlier this year and there were ppl on every rock was so bad that i havnt been back all year, but i have done some great trout fishing threw there in years past. Everything I put in the water last night they bit on. Worms, tubes, and plastic worms with squiggly tails. So much fun, I can't quit going fishing. [signature] Re: [windriver] Below Black Canyon Dam is hot! - Rocknrob - 09-23-2009 It is located just 7 miles outside of Emmett, hwy 55 heading Horse shoe Bend. Caught 2 nice big ones tonight. Then some smaller ones too. But it's more the canyon than a body of water since the S. Fork Snake is right by it. Cast and reel fast. You can also use lead headed jigs with a brown 3" curly tail grub. Cast and reel just like using a crankbait, fast enough to keep it off the bottom. I've noticed lots of trout in there this time of year, so you should be able keep picking them up. Throw a white spinnerbait every so often, theirs a bunch of big largemouth bass hiding right at your feet on the concrete wall. [inline bcbass.jpg] My buddy Scuba dives Sawyers, he dove the 3rd pond last night and said he seen a lot of largemouth, crappie and bluegill on the move, more then normal. He also seen a ton of big cats along the edges right next to shore, plus a few monsters in dug out burroughs next to the boat ramp. I already am using the 3 inch brown curly tailed grub worm. I can't wait to go to Sawyers 3rd pond again. I have only been once this year. I have a float boat, and that is fun to put in there. I will try catching those cats too. I am such a fishing addict. [signature] |
