Hal, Chick, Mixed, 9-11-09, Drum King - FishNews - 09-15-2009 We were off to our regular Friday fishing trip but got a late start because I had to see the Doc for my checkup so we didn't get started 'till noon. We ran into DragFish at the boat dock with a broken motor so we gave him a hand getting his boat back on the trailer, emoThumbsup (hope it wasn't too serious, Ron, emoRolleyes ) It was a little after 12:30 when we started fishing so we didn't have long to get them, emoTongue Dickey had to be off the water by 5 so we didn't have our usual 5 or 6 hours to find 'em. We caught 2 cats, one about 6 lbs, 1 Smallie about a pound and 43 crappie, emoSmile Almost all the crappie were at least 10 inches but we only kept a mess of 11's and over. Had some nice, fat fish today. Again the bite was very light and you had to watch the line most of the time. I lost one really nice one, probably 12-13 inches right at the boat, emoAngry Again the lure of the day was mostly BG Crystal Shad and the count was around a 6 most of the time although some were caught at a 12 count, emoSmile in 20+ FOW. Water temp was 78*-81* and remained cloudy all day to make for some really comfortable fishing all day, air temp was in the hi 70's, emoSmile We enjoyed the half day and also ran into another CFF'er who was bass fishing, emoThumbsup <br />Thanks for the ride DK, emoThumbsup
