I need help with fish ID - idahoron - 09-06-2009 My son got a fish today that I think is a Utah Chub. It was caught in Milner Dam. Here are the pics. [signature] Re: [lunkerhunter2] I need help with fish ID - idahoron - 09-06-2009 It looks like it will be the next state record! Ron [signature] Re: [idahoron] I need help with fish ID - lunkerhunter2 - 09-06-2009 SWEET! [signature] Re: [idahoron] I need help with fish ID - cpierce - 09-06-2009 Huge chub! Has anyone ever tried to eat chubbs? Smoke them or any thing? Just curious. [signature] Re: [idahoron] I need help with fish ID - windriver - 09-06-2009 Congrats!!! I believe our old moderator BrianID holds the record right now. Steelfisher caught one last winter at Henrys that would have broken the record but did not want to claim it. So how about that BFT members fighting it out for the state chub record.[crazy][ ![]() Windriver [signature] Re: [windriver] I need help with fish ID - Kent - 09-07-2009 [quote windriver] Steelfisher caught one last winter at Henrys that would have broken the record but did not want to claim it. [/quote] Someone (can't remember whom) told me that Henry's didn't have any minnows in it. Obviously, they didn't know what they were talking about. Does it also have other minnows? No record for him. One thing though, the spot where he got that one is lousy with those things. We have got several that were big so he is going to try again. Ron [signature] Re: [kentofnsl] I need help with fish ID - windriver - 09-07-2009 Henrys has plenty of chubs. Right now they don't seem to be too out of hand. I don't know of any other minnow species in Henrys. While the fish at Henrys will eat a minnow now and then the majority of their food is in the form of leeches, nymphs, and scuds. There is no need for the fish to expend energy chasing minnows when they have a smorgusborg of easy prey in front of them.
