Hal, Chick, Mixed - Crappie & Bass, 7-31-09, Alone - FishNews - 08-03-2009 I outwaited the rain and got on the lake about 3 PM today to try for a few crappie, emoSmile It was a beautiful afternoon to be out on the water, clearing with very little wind but very little current also, <br />Didn't do too well on numbers, only caught 8 crappie and 2 bass. The crappie quality was there with only one throwback, one just over 10" and the rest over 12" with one TARP at about 14 & a half, emoSmile <br />Also caught one little large mouth and a nice Smallie, emoSmile <br />Water temp was 81* to 85*, yes I saw 85* in one place and that was above the Nuke.<br />Count down today was 15 to 20 in mostly 30'+ water. Fish are deep.<br />All fish returned to the water to get bigger. The minnows are really schoolin' up. I saw lots and lots of 'em, running anywhere from 1 to 3 inches in length, emoThumbsup We should have some fat fish pretty soon with all the bait, emoTongue <br />Sorry you couldn't make the trip today DK, I missed you, emoSmile
