Surf fishing near Destin, FL - bassmasta - 07-28-2009
I'm an avid freshwater bass, catfish, and crappie fisherman but have never fished the surf. I was wondering what baits would be useful for some of the larger saltwater fish, and what tackle to use. I'm fishing near the Destin area of Florida and I don't really have a preference on what I want to catch as long as its of decent size. Any tips or instructions would be very appreciated.

I surf fish in Mexico, what I use is a egg sinker, stopper and a hook about 3 feet away from the stopper (barrel swivel). The bait I use is octopus chunk and bed the hook so its snag-less.
