East Canyon - joshmobile - 07-23-2009
I went up to East Canyon this morning before work and I caught my first large mouth bass. I was fishing off the bank with a Jakes spinner when I caught him. He was just under 2 pounds and he fought like crazy.

The mouth was about 5 times the size of a rainbow so I figured it was a large mouth bass. How do you tell the difference? He did fight like crazy I thought I had a 12 pound trout on the line at first. I think I'm starting to finally understand how people get so obsessed with bass.

With the mouth shut. The jaw will extend pass the eye on a largemouth bass, the smallmouth's jaw will not.
