so i'm relatively new to fishing...like a month. Anyways, I normally used crankbaits and jerkbaits and sometimes worms butdecided to try out live baitfish (small 2"-3" shiners i think) today. When I tried hooking them up, I hooked it through their bottom lip and out their top lip.Then I tried hooking them at their tails since I wasn't trolling ( is that what it's called???casting out and then reeling back in...like what you do for crankbaits and jerkbaits). but almost everytime i reeled back in after some time, somehow they would manage to break free....So my question is:
how do you hook a small baitfish through the tail?
o and...sorry for all these other questions but...
what baitfish is best for bass and how big?...or does it not matter
and how do u rig a baitfish? i just used a small weight and a bobber that was about 2 1/2 feet from the baitfish
