Challis Salmon - redbeard1 - 07-19-2009 I was wondering if anyone knows if the run will still be open for next weekend, and where the fish would be by then. [signature] Re: [redbeard1] Challis Salmon - chrome_junky - 07-19-2009 It should be open my buddy talked to fish and game Friday and he said he thought it would be open until the last weekend in July but make sure you check the fish and game website constantly and if I were to go I'd go to the Stanley area [signature] Re: [chrome_junky] Challis Salmon - Rockjmpr - 07-20-2009 Thanks for the info. hey if I can get up there do I need roe or do you think I'll do OK on jigs/spoons?? [signature] Re: [Rockjmpr] Challis Salmon - chrome_junky - 07-20-2009 I would use tuna balls over roe and it cheaper but I did see a guy hook into a couple on a spinner and on a spoon [signature] Re: [chrome_junky] Challis Salmon - Rockjmpr - 07-20-2009 Hey thanks, I never heard of Tuna but I guess it makes sence, I wonder if canned mackrel would work...I need to give it a shot [signature] Re: [Rockjmpr] Challis Salmon - maghunter - 07-20-2009 I thought the same thing so I got a can of mackerel and some tuna (in oil) and I mixed them together. Don't make your balls in your house my wife claims she can still smell it. Anyways it seems to work I caught one, and there was a lot of people up there on Friday who didn't. good luck. As far the mackeral. I have seen them ground shrimp, oysters, squid, i imagine anything with a good scent trail will work. [signature] |
