Yet More Questions for Clarity - Simp - 06-27-2009 I sit here enjoying a Sam Adams, and thinking about fishing, and a few more questions have arisen in my mind. [ol][li]I've heard that bass fishing is best at dusk and dawn. Which is better? Do the fish bite more in the morning than the evening? Or is it pretty much even?[/li][li]What are some good topwater lures? I need to expand my repertoire. Trick worm shaky heads are my go-to rig, but I don't always get good activity on them, and when they stop getting hit, I need to find something else the bass want.[/li][li]What about swim senkos? I haven't have luck with normal senkos in the river, so what about their cohorts?[/li][li]Spinnerbaits and buzzbaits...Some people swear by them, I've never gotten anything but one little catfish on them. Any secrets, hints, tips, something that can be passed on so that I may use these effectively?[/li][/ol]And finally, thank you BFT, for not having Vimax Male Enhancement ads all over your pages. Every page I visit, from the weather to the dictionary or thesaurus, has wide eyed women with text like "want to shock girls? surprise her with a bigger penis!".....it's getting SO old! [laugh] [signature] Re: [Simp] Yet More Questions for Clarity - lurtch - 06-27-2009 if your going to fish the rivers you need to get some rapalas..i prefer the floating shallow runners in black and silver..if you slow retrive and twitch them they are a good topwatter bait..or you can reel then jerk em.. like a stick bait..the shad rap is a good deep diving crank also..there a little exspensive..but well worth it..you wont lose em very often..heres a pic of the floating rapalas..like i said reel em slow and twitch them..looks just like a wounded minnow on the surface..they cant resist it. [signature] Re: [Simp] Yet More Questions for Clarity - lurtch - 06-27-2009 ive found that early morning topwatter action is better..from 11 pm to mornings pretty good to just use a noisy topwater.. [signature] Re: [lurtch] Yet More Questions for Clarity - Simp - 06-27-2009 I have about 8 rapalas, never caught anything on em. Got maybe one hit, 4 months ago. [signature] Re: [Simp] Yet More Questions for Clarity - lurtch - 06-28-2009 well theyve caught aloy of fish on the rivers for me..just trying to help..they have tip on how to use each kinds..just look up rapala lures.. [signature] Re: [lurtch] Yet More Questions for Clarity - Simp - 06-28-2009 I know you were trying to help, my sincerest apologies if I came off as rude and unappreciative, I promise it was not my intention. I bought a shad rap recently, because I've heard they're one of the best rapalas. There's tons of bluegills in the river, so I got a bluegill pattern. But nothing on it. I don't have an original floater, but I have been wanting to get one and give it a try. I'm still trying to find other lures that the little buggers will bite. But when I'm having a good deal of success on one color worm, it's hard to try other things. [signature] Re: [Simp] Yet More Questions for Clarity - lurtch - 06-29-2009 i didnt mean to sound offended..im not..just trying to explain that every lure has a time and place and a way to use it most effectively..a shad rap is a deep running crank therefore deeper watter and drop offs is were its most effective...the origional floating minnow does best imitating a dying minnow on or near the surface..these understandings will help you catch more fish more often.. [signature] Re: [lurtch] Yet More Questions for Clarity - Simp - 06-29-2009 Yeah. I gotta get an original floater. I would probably do real well with it in the morning. [signature] Re: [Simp] Yet More Questions for Clarity - lurtch - 06-30-2009 size 9 has always been my favorite..i like the black and silver..but the collors might be different were your at..
