Vt Trip 6/6-6/10 Catherine & Champlain - gdn443 - 06-14-2009 6/6 St.Catherine at 5:30 We worked the channel and Little pond and boated 12 Lgmouth and 4 Pike. Biggest for the day was 3.1 and 3.6. Buzzbait and Lizard in the weeds. Checking beds we saw we missed the spawn by a week. water 66. 6/7 we hit Champlain at day break again out of Chimney Pt. Turned out to be a nive day, but only 3 lgmouth and 2 smallies for the day. Those we found around the memorial dock. Sencos worked today. 6/8 Hit Champlain again at Larrabrees Found bass on points and inside streams, 6 lgmouth and a couple of perch with my largest bass for the trip at 3-11.Sencos again with a couple on buzzbait. 6/9 Went back to Catherine as the big lake wasn't happening for us and it turned out a good idea. Boated 12 smallies, 6 lgmouth with a 2-10 smallie as lunker. Hit on dropoffs and rocky points. All on sencos again. 6/10 Catherine for 5 hours till we headed home and got 10 fish with a mixed bag of smallies and lgmouth. Ended up catching about 14 pike, but all in the 16'-20' size out of catherine. They appeared to have messed up this lake for Pike as well as lgmouth as their sizes where all in the 1 1/2-2 lb. Warden says their going to put more chemicals in this year for millfoil. We'll be back in Sept. to try it again.
