drumking, chickamauga, Crappie and bass, 6/5/09, Hal - FishNews - 06-06-2009 Friday is Hal's day off, so we went crappie fishing. We caught 4 bass along the way and 1 tiny bluegill. We ended up with 75 total crappie caught. I kept one limit for my BIL. We caught a lot of little 9" fish today. We released all fish except the 11-12 inch crappie. It turns out that 15 crappie fell into that slot for us. Hal did catch a TARP black crappie on the bluff. We measured it, I asked him if he wanted me to weigh it, and he said no. I then threw it back overboard to grow up some. After about 30 seconds, we looked at each other and said, "We forgot to take a pic of that TARP fish. emoBang emoBang We must be slipping. emoHoppingmad

We caught all fish on 1/16oz jigheads with BG shads. Blue chartreuse was the best lure today. That's about all that we tried. Although Hal did try some different colors, not many fish hit those colors. When he returned to blue/chartreuse, he started catching fish again. We caught several fish on bluffs, and a lot of fish on docks. We fished from above Sequoia to about Booker T. Washington park. We didn't fish in the state park though.

Saw Biofisher and his son out there today chasing bass. He said that they had caught several, but not many big ones. Good talking to you Gary. That's it for me until Monday. This weekend belongs to Wanda. She may have a couple of honey-dos for me. I suspect it anyway. emoBig ![]() |
