Big Fish, Chick, Largemouth and white bass, 5/25/2009 - FishNews - 05-27-2009
Fished out of Grasshopper monday from about 6 til 1145 with a buddy of mine. We made a short run and started shallow with spooks and buzzbaits. Caught 2 keepers real quick and then some short fish. We left there and headed for some humps before they were full of boats. Should have stayed shallow a little longer because the first hump only produced 3 short fish. Left there and ran to another hump that had alot of trash floating on the surface. There must have been a huge school of bait floating along with that mat of wood and trash because white bass started running bait and the fun started. We caught somewhere around 20-25 all around 2-2.5lbs. on swimbaits and crankbaits. After that we tried different spots and only came up with short fish. The white bass made up for the slow large mouth bite we had.
