CJ Strike -crappie -May 24 - Browningsilver - 05-24-2009
Last Saturday on May 17th I caught a ton of crappie in the narrows simply using a bobber and a very small red/white squid jig on a long leader. My wife and I brought home about 30 crappie in just a few hours.
Today May 24th was a different story. Naturally I tried the previous setup which worked well last Saturday. I had no luck for an hour. One fisherman gave me a tip and said to remove the bobber and add a small sinker. I slowly reeled it in and gave pauses every little bit. It worked and helped us bring home about 30 crappie. I guess the crappie are simply deeper and even closer to the shore now. We filleted them and had a great crappie fry tonight.
