drumking, chickamauga, crappie, 5/20/09, J R Baker - FishNews - 05-22-2009 My brother-in-law and I fished for crappie this morning from about 8:15 until nearly noon. J R wanted some crappie for his freezer and we managed to catch a few. The fishing conditions were terrible because of the wind. It was whitecapping the river by the time we started. The wind was chilly out of the NW, sunny skies and high water flow. We landed 11 keepers, 2 spotted bass and about 5 to 1 throwbacks crappie for a total of 50-60 fish. I had to stand on the trolling motor all morning just to stay close to the docks that we were fishing. It was nearly impossible to keep JR into the fish without banging the boat into the docks that we fished and I'm not going to abuse someone's dock or my little tracker. We did go into a marina to get out of the wind. Accomplished that, but ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
