THutch, River Gorge, Bass, 5-16-09 - FishNews - 05-17-2009 I haven't posted or fished much lately but I managed to pull about 5 hours out of the Suck Creek ramp today. I headed down river to scout some new spots and a few spots I haven't fished in months. It was quite slow numbers wise. I caught a 16 inch largemouth right out of the gate and then nothing for a while. Anyhow, 4 short fish later and about five hours later I went for the last cast with a grub on. The bottom seemed to move and then up came a monster. I had a small grub, 60 feet of 6lb line, and what had to be a 5lber on. As might heart raced and I chased with the trolling motor, he jumped three times - clearly just to excite me more. I finally netted my 23 inch last cast largemouth!<br /><br />You can't beat that flow and a simple grub! Sorry the pictures suck. I, should say 2 nice gentlemen I met on the water, took them with my phone. If you are reading, I appreciate the help fellas. You can get the size but the picture definitely doesn't do her justice.<br />
