JDK, Riverpark, smallies, 5/2 - FishNews - 05-03-2009
<br /> Between unpacking and hanging pictures for the wife managed to sneak away for a few hours for hopefully the last trip in my boat.If all goes well getting a new boat tomorrow or Monday.. nothing special but a lot nicer then mine!!!!! Fished from 630 to 830 and managed to catch 4 smallies best 2 were 2 lb 15 oz and 2 lbs 1 oz biggest one was a healthy 17&amp;quot; long. Fished near the dam and a few places down from the Riverpark put in.. Fish caught on cranks, Strike King bitsy tubes and the big smallie came on a shiner.. No current to speak off and water temps were 65 degrees water was slightly stained.. Tube color was watermelon with red flakes, crankbait was chartruse and blue. Ended the day with 4 smallies 3 spots a rock bass a white bass and about a 10 lb drum.. The smallies were fiesty today making quite a few jumps and runs under the boat.. Drizzled the whole time I was there but it was perfect smallie weather wish i would have started a little earlier. <br />
