Very Unsuccessful Day - Simp - 04-19-2009
Well, I had a horrible day today. Spent a grand total of 4 or so hours fishing, caught no bass, not even crappie. Threw a plethora of lures out, they were not having it. I got a few good hits, but no commitment. I did catch a catfish, but that was only because I saw him floating through the shallow 8" water, and threw my worm in front of him and pulled it back towards him. He bit it, and I pulled him the 4 feet to dry dirt, took the hook out, and pushed him back into the water via the mud.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Ok. I feel better. Maybe the next fishing day will be better.

You're going to have those days. That is the major draw to this sort of thing... overcoming the adversity and learning how to catch fish on even the toughest days. A year or so ago, I was almost exactly where you are right now. Looking back, I learned a lot by asking questions and experimenting with line, lures, rods, reels, and tactics.
Not to make you feel bad, but I caught about 40 fish yesterday...[:p]

I had the same thing yesterday. I went to 4 different lakes and threw a ton of stuff out, cranks, spinners, buzzers, live, plastics and didn't get a hit on anything. At least it looked like no one else was catching anything and the place thinned out a bit after CO came by checking licenses. I was the only one out of about 8 that had one and I offered to show mine.

Hahahaha. not at all, I'm glad someone had a good day of fishing.
We're REALLY thinking about taking all the catfish out of the pond, so without them kicking all that mud up, the pond will clear up a little....the bass and crappie will thrive...ohhh it'll be great.

Ah i don't know. I'm not gonna fish for a few days...maybe let em get used to me not being there. Once I got the crappie and bass on the shaky head i fished for a couple of hours each day. they stopped biting.
