i was told it happens naturaly becouse browns and brokies spawn at the same time of year alot of times on the same gravel..i guess utah has alot of them...they dont fight any better but they sure are pretty with those yellow stripes..

They are sterile hybrids. It is EXTREMELY rare for these 2 fish to cross in the wild. Our state record is over 25" long i believe. Soon it will be 25#.

we have had in the past hatcherys that would cross them on purpose for stocking..i was told that if they spawn ther ofspring will be either brown or brokie they wont produce more tigers,

They do this in UT to the tune of several million fry each year. They are planting these fish heavily in many waters. They grow fast and are a good option to keep rough fish populations down.

im glad you got a pic my only pics were not taken with a digital camera..i think i want to live in utah..the only trout they will plant in our state are of the lake run variety..all the browns and rainbows they plant grow to about 10 inches then head for lake michigan to grow up..they dont plant any brookies or german browns anymore ..the lake charters make the state alot of money therefore they dictate which fish get planted..if it wasnt for the citizens of this stata doing the work on ther own ther would be no stream fishing left..you guys should count your blessings..

We have our own problems. It is not "all good". Our state agencies manage for trout and not other species. It really sucks. We do have some warmwater programs but it is all about the slimers. I would trade half our trout for more warmwater species.[Wink]

Re: [lunkerhunter2] tiger brokies.. - lurtch - 04-17-2009

how about a trade we get millions of walleyes planted for all there turnaments and lake erie charters..lets see if the states will get together on a trade..half a million walleyes for the same in brookies...think theyed go for it...

Re: [lunkerhunter2] tiger brokies.. - lurtch - 04-17-2009

the only way to get things done around here is to get a big group of people together pooling there money together then petitioning the state to do there own stockings..money is the only thing they listen to...if that dont work what they dont know wont hurt them...i dont recomend breaking the law except under desperate measures..get er done

NOT around here the church runs everything in our state. that is why there are no topless bars. lol so if your a member of the church all you have to do is start talking around and sooner or later you will get your way. that is what happens when the church runs the politics. just offer to build them a new church they are going up everywhere. then they just might build you your own private lake with what every you want in it lol.
