shsimons, Chick, Bass, 4-11-09 - FishNews - 04-12-2009 This morning I either got lucky or figured some stuff out. I figured a little of both.<br /><br />I ended up with around 8 fish. Two smallmouth went 3 lbs 5 oz and 4 lbs 2 oz. The biggest largemouth I caught went 4 lbs 8 oz.<br /><br />I guess the surprise fish of the morning would have to be the spot, or hybrid, or whatever its genetics may be. It did have a tooth patch. It went 6 lbs 1 oz, and was extremely thick. It seemed like it was both full of eggs and food. I am attaching 2 pics of it, the one where the camera flashed, it just looks cool!<br /><br />I was out 3 other times this past week, Wednesday caught 4 with the biggest at 3 lbs, all spots, Thursday biggest went around 3 with another 4 spots, and Friday fishing with Rich we hit 13 fish with the biggest at 3 1/2.<br /><br />I've been wondering when some smallmouth would be coming out to visit me. It's nice when all 3 species bite.
