Mona Res. - timberhall - 04-08-2009

Is there any good fishing in the Mona Res.? My friend is heading down there this weekend and was thinking about trying to fish it.

Carp is all I hear about.

Some years it goes virtually dry. Nothing worth fishing for there.

Once, many years ago, and I mean like 25, my Dad went fishing there with a guy that grew up in Mona. Believe it or not, amongst the chubs and carp they caught, the first fish my Dad landed was a very nice trout. Over the years the DWR has tried to introduce varies things. I doubt many have worked. I would predict carp and maybe chubs.

I grew up down there, and when I was a kid, the stream flowing into the res had good fishing for browns and walleye, but that was about 20 years ago, so things have probably changed pretty significantly
