So I have been thinking that today was going to be the best day of fishing yet, and it was. I actually caught 5 keepers today. All I can say is the Lord blessed us. Started out in the 3 blast off and decided not to run in the fog, so we fished in HBSP. Taz lands a keeper first fish, about 5 minutes after our horn. Beetlespin was nice enough to leave this one for us. emoLaugh emoPoke Then a few more slicks and we decided to move. Since I had caught some nice ones with Lefty down river, we went down river. Caught another keeper on a point and then the biggest one of the day just up from that. So far all fish caught on rattle baits. Then we moved on down river and I started catching fish like crazy on a crankbait. Had one keeper and bunch of shorts, Taz was landing shorts on a trap still. So there we were with a decent bag with 4 keepers by 10:30. fished all the way to the dam and back up hitting some points and banks. Fished a ton of new water. Did get one keeper on the way back up that just barely hit 15, had to squeeze the tail, but it was over. So we had 5. We finished the day on a spot that thank the Lord we skipped on the way down river . Taz caught another keeper that we threw back and then I caught the final keeper so we culled the barely 15. In all we caught about 12 or 13 throwbacks and 7 keepers. It was a great team effort and so much fun. Taz thanks for inviting me to fish with you today, seriously enjoyed it. I think we both learned a lot. I think we weighed in 15.76lbs if I remember correctly. Really good to meet so many of you today, and I look forward to doing it again. I also caught my pb at 4.7 something lbs. All fish caught on a particular crank or a rattle trap, besides the one tiny slick I caught on a shaky head first thing this morning. Its so cool catching fish in new water and on a bait that I now have confidence in, never really had much confidence in cranks before today. Did not take one picture, but I think there is one of me with the bigun, if I pulled the right one out of the bag. Billy thanks for putting your time into a good day! Taz, thanks again. you too Rob, and everyone else that put time into this to make it happen. GOOD TIMES!
