Shakespeare Axiom LP Baitcast Reel - Simp - 03-26-2009
Opinions? Reviews? Information? I bought the combo last year, and the rod's top guide is missing the o-ring. So now I have this reel, and I'm wondering if it's a quality reel that would hold up to fishing on the river, or if I'm gonna have to wait until I spend $130 on a Quantum Boca PT Spinning Reel to fish the river.

I would never use a Shakespeare. It just starts to be not worth it having the cheaper reels.
Once you buy the Quantums that are over $100 you won't buy anything less. Great performance

Yeah. After both shakespeare rods lost the o ring on the top guide, I decided not to buy any more of the stuff. I'll use what I got in the pond. It can handle any fish in there.
