drumking, chickamauga, Mixed, 3/23/09, Bassert - FishNews - 03-24-2009 Pat Ryan came over this morning and we fished during the hours of the upcoming crappie tx. It was a good day and we caught a variety of fish. We started off shallow and did not find the fish shallow early, so we moved out to mid-range depths. Found the fish there. We caught about 40 crappie, the majority of which were females. Also added 5 drum, 6 bluegills, 1 rock bass, 2 spots and 2 largemouth bass. Ringer stingers and bg shads were the most effective lures to throw. About a 5 or 6 count was the level that the fish were holding. The last drum was around 6 to 7 pounds and had a new Pointer lure hanging on the side of his head. I'll just bet that one of you bass fishermen really had a tale this weekend about the big one that broke your line and heart. Well, it was a big drum. emoBig ![]() ![]() ![]() |
