I've never looked at a bed, so I can't help you there. Pre-spawn also marks the beginning of Senko season. Dropping 5" and 6" Senkos in the shallows works well, too. Pre-spawn, you are looking for a reaction strike. Aggravate the fish and get them to whack your lure out of protection of the spawning area. They're there protecting a while before they lay eggs. Jerkbaits and shallow running cranks will work well also, the shinier, louder and more vibrations, the better. Some fellas use a white tube or bait so when the fish hits they can see it disappear. You may have to throw it into the bed quite a few times to get a hit. [signature] |
