where should I fish in Kentucky? - azolbrod - 03-15-2009 I am fishing my way across the country and will be traveling through Kentucky in Mid to late May. I am looking to catch big bass, walleyes, and/or crappie. Would also like to do some fishing for big cats at night. I am hoping someone out there can tell me where to go. Got some suggestions??? Lake Barkley in KY and my favorite, Lake Cumberland in KY. Cumberland is a well kept crappie secret. 15 to 17 inches is nothing and I caught one over 19. If they're bitting you will probably catch one or two in the 15 to 17 inch range and possibly a bigger one. ( That was before they lowered the lake to repair the dam though. ) P.S. Lake Cumberland has been lowered to repair the dam. I haven't fished it since they did this, but it used to hold some NICE crappie. [signature] |
