bent rod, Tims Ford, Hybrids/Crappie, 2/28/09, solo - FishNews - 03-03-2009
After Bill and I saw some shad and a little activity yesterday, I had to go look around a while today. After getting into the area and not seeing much, I fished for Bass a while and that didn't work out at all. Threw jigs, and cranks and a spoon. Nothing. Saw a couple of fish roll and got after them with a spoon. Caught 2 small Rockfish, maybe 17 in. Also caught 2 Hybrids, the largest was 6.4 lbs. They were all in less than 10 fow. Tired of chunking the lead and decided to shoot a couple of docks on the way to the ramp. Ended up with 4 keepers, 3 14 in. (they looked like clones and all came from the same spot) and a 12 1/2. Also caught 4 shorts. Everything blacknose except one black crappie. All on 1/32 head with char. and white slab slayar. The count was 5. Water temp was 49 to 55.
