Was wanting to launch and fish Mud Creek today but drove by when I saw the crowd there. I put in at Crow Creek and stayed in there all day. I did venture to the river but turned around when I saw the water temps. of 47-48 and returned to the upper parts of Crow where the water was 54-55. It was pretty slow today, I caught 12-14 fish with 4 being keepers. The biggest was 4 pounds and the other 3 were just keepers. Today I couldnt get them to take anything red, all mine were on the Royal Shad xr50. I tail hooked the biggest grass carp I have ever seen, it had to weigh 40-50 pounds. It took me a good 20 minutes to get the fish in the boat, wish I had a camera with me, that thing was a real monster. You couldnt ask for better weather this time of year, it was a perfect day and I enjoyed being out there.
