Going down to Preston today wanted to hit some ice if the snowing does not get to bad anyone fished it anytime soon????? wanting to know the ice conditions and such thanks........

last i had heard was from a guy targetting perch and bluegill. He was frustrated because he couldnt get his hook to them said the trout were hitting it before it could get to the bottom he said that they were only about 9 inches though. as for the ice it should be good but i would take a plank just incase the water has started to rise but if you dont have one i think you should be ok.

Ill second that on the trout, and they hit ard and swallow the hook deep so once ya hit your limit of trout, better stop cuz thats what you seem to get. One one else finding any thing different?

Jigs,we went there tuesday with trout hitting all day.but no perch or bluegill ,one thing was all the trout had little crappies in there gut.

I fished Glendale, and about five other places on Saturday. Right from the start I was catching a ton of rainbows. I caught about five then moved out deeper to try and catch some perch. After an hour or so, not a single bite so I went back to catching rainbows. I caught probably 14 or so in the couple hours I was there and got tired of it so I ventured elsewhere

I started off at Weston. Fished a couple of hours and not even a single bite. That could explain why I was the only one on the water. Next I headed over to find Glendale. I ended up finding Johnson reservoir and fished there for about an hour. I pulled out one trout and lost a couple little perch and what looked like a bluegill. I was staring down my hole
After Johnson I headed over to Glendale and was able to find it. After about five minutes there, like I said I hooked into a bunch of trout. I ended up just keeping one of them. Then I headed back towards Malad (I went down to visit my grandparents). On my way back I stopped my Deep Creek for about an hour and a half. I lost two trout, one was at least 18" and came off right as I got him near the hole. Then I was split between my old standby, Crowthers, or Devils Creek, where I have only fished a couple times. I decided to hit Crowthers. The last couple hours of the day I spent at Crowthers were very worthwhile. I stopped counting after 30 or so. Most were only about 8" but I pulled out one that was 14". I saw another person pull one out about 17" or 18". All of the decent sized trout were nice and fat. They were also really pink when I cleaned them. The trout out of Glendale and Johnson were pretty white inside. So yup, that was my fun filled day of fishing saturday. Started about 5:45 AM and ended around 7:00PM. I ended up catching over fifty trout but not a single perch, which was what I wanted. Thats alright, it was a great day! [signature]

if your after trout i would say deepcreek is the place to go, last sunday 2 of us took 7 fish home all over 2 lb some closer to 3, and lost our biggest 2. They are very pink also, they do have parisites but they say that if you cook them good you have nothing to worry about, but i dont feel good about taking home the onces that are bleeding on there sides.
I havnt heard from anyone that has done any good in the late winter for perch in weston, i know early when it had first froze over they had done great right on the damn but i dont know anyone thats done good. Last couple times i have drove by i havnt seen a person even there.
