Miami in june hows the fishing? - ocean - 02-13-2009
Heading to miami in june for 2 weeks anyone know what kind of fishing that goes on ? Whats biting in that time frame ? Maybe sails,kingfish,bonitos tunas any help will be appreciated.

All of the above are biting good during that time. In addtion, you can also score on some Tarpon and Dorado.
A good selection of trolling feathers, Buzz Bombs and live baits are the local favorites. The better colors on the feathers are Mexican Flag and Dishwater. You can find those from Cabelas or buy them locally out there.[cool]

Yeah . Good idea. They will have all the local flavors and sizes. That one you are talking about acutally carries more Salt than freshwater stuff so you will need to bring some cash cuz you will be hooked. haha [cool]

I got 4 or 5 days fishing in last June out of Palm Beach Shores. Mostly kingfish, bonitos and mahi mahi. No tuna. Didn't fish for sails but a quite a few around us did and they seemed to have a lot of sucess. Good Luck.

Thats good those bonitos put up a great fight!! I hope the fishing is good my daughter wants to tangle with a bonito really bad.

Those bonitos and especially the kingfish put up a great fight. My son and nephews had a great time with the bonitos but I don't think any of the boys where able to land a kingfish on that trip. Great that your taking your daughter. We'll be hitting the mid keys out of Marathon this July with the boys again.

I cant wait to get there and do some fishing!! I always take my nephews to islamorada for some fishing too. We usually catch jacks,cudas and nurse sharks. I use bonitos for bait they work great down there have fun in the sun in July.
