1st day out this year - SmaugTrout - 02-12-2009 Lot of stormin here in SoCal. but it looks like Sat. will be the only clear day on a three-day weekend. I plan to hit the Castaic Lagoon early, and work the low dam area for red-ears. They are all over the reeds and that little cove on the end. Using PM's and jointed minnow. I like the pier for drop shot rigs, as it has a bit of a channel the trout drift through. Might try walking down to the high dam and try for bass.
