Ice fishing Colorado! - tmas - 02-09-2009 Hey I'm from Utah my oldre brother is a military veteran who lost his leg in Iraq. He is Ice Climbing near Ouray Colorado this weekend. I am an avid ice fisherman and I am going to drive over to watch him climb. I thought i'd like to try doing some Ice fishing while i'm over there. I'd be up for a 2-3 hour drive from Ouray...any recomendations on where I should try my luck at doing some fishing? Any advice would be great thanks guys! Personally, I would spend every minute I could on Blue Mesa! [signature] Re: [DonInDenver] Ice fishing Colorado! - tmas - 02-10-2009 Thanks for the advice! If I were to try Blue Mesa...is there anywhere in particular you would recommend I start or should I just look for good access? Thanks again! I decided to trek over to Blue Mesa and it was a blast! I got there at 7am and fished until 1pm. I started off the rocks right near the bridge in 25ft and I iced 6 browns in the 14-17" range...then I moved out to 75ft and I iced two laker pups....20&22"!!! Thanks for your advice!
