My brother was at newton today, thats just south of preston. He said it was about a foot thick w/ 6" of good ice, 3" of water on top sounded wet but they cuaght alot of crappie.

catching some nice crappie is worth dealing with the messy conditions. I have fished devils creek a lot in the warmer months but never landed a crappie. Do you mind telling where they were fishing on the res?

I don't think they have them in Devil Creek . He was talking about Newton in Utah . Curt G.
