Lake mead 1/16/09 - BigE - 01-18-2009
[cool]Went out after work to fish Boulder Harbor and Hemenway. Got in the tube and went down the bouy line to the right of the harbor. Caught a 2lb.11oz. at the shallow rock area on a rattletrap. Then nothing else til I got out to go to Henemway at 4pm. I was fishing just west of the fishing pier at Hemenway and caught a 5lber on a bomber long A. He tangled up my net,lure,line and pole. After finally getting him unhooked and put on the stringer, I dropped him in the water to handle the remaining mess. As I went back to the tangle,I realized that I FORGOT to attach the stringer to the tube! Gone was the fish and my stringer! Pissed off at myself and failing light I pack up my gear. I then decide to cast from the pier to try and redeem myself. Within 20 minutes I hook a 2lber which I got in the ice chest,a 5lber lost 10' from the pier and another 2lber also lost close to the pier.All caught on the bomber long A. Afraid of further embarrassment I call it a day/night and go. Sorry no pics.

That sucks! Now we've got a 5 lber swimming around with some hardcore jewelery!

Man tough start to the year for us. So far we are down one rod and one stringer, not to mention a few killer trips that were postponed. The fishing gods givith and the fishing gods taketh away... [laugh]

[cool]Yes, it gould have been alot worse; a lost rod,net and punctured tube. At least I got enough for tacos.
