50 HP JOHNSON - ALAN - 05-27-2003
My buddy has an older 50hp Johnson motor on a boat he was given in exchange for work. The problem is the motor has the short shaft and his boat requires the long shaft. He doesn't have the $700.00 to change shafts. Does anyone have a blown motor with a long shaft? Or does anyone have an idea what else he can do?

[font "Comic Sans MS"][size 3]Call the marine shops for used parts. I know Lee's Marine (435-245-7727) in Hyrum has a bunch of older outboards out back in his yard he uses for parts. You may luck out and somebody has a motor with a blown engine but the lower end is in dandy shape.[/size][/font]

I have a 60 Horse Merc. With all controls and auto trim. The mittle cylinder is not getting good compretion. It is a 1987
