Interesting to say the least. Wooden Oars?
Allot of wind resistance?

Thanks for the compliments[cool][cool][cool], with the wind I don't have big problems and the oars I have already changed with a aluminum pair.
In reality with the trolling motor before, I don't use the oars, with this system I also succeed in fishing standing.
Sorry for my terrible English

Looks comfortable. Does it have 2 motors in the one picture?

Re: [idahopanfish] My customized pontoon - Sergino - 01-15-2009

I fish never anchored.
Yes, in some photos there are 2 trollings motor, the back it is a 54lb of thrust, while the anterior is an old 24lb.
In this way, I also succeed in going up again the course of rivers, with current moderately fast, when I fish the pike.
Excuse me for my English

VERY NICE ideas and the English is just fine.

Looks like a FLAT frame like I have on my pontoon. Makes modifications easier I think.

Would love to see some pictures of this in action! All of our lakes here are pretty much frozen over.

Re: [flygoddess] My customized pontoon - Sergino - 01-15-2009

I have seen the photos of the frozen lakes and the equipment to make icefishing. Where I live the temperatures in winter they never go down under the -3 centigrade degrees, I believe to have seen some frozen lakes only during the vacations in mountain.
In these days ago very cold and we fish with 4 or 5 centigrade degrees.
In Sicily in these days they are almost there 15 degrees.
Our problem is that there are many fishermen and few great waters.

If you get an opportunity to go ice fishing give it a try, I find it challenging and rewarding.

When running 2 motors how many volts or batteries do you use?

Re: [idahopanfish] My customized pontoon - flygoddess - 01-16-2009

Good question. Looks like you do have room for two batteries, but that would be like 120 more lbs (another person)
If you don't use 2 batteries, how long do you get on one?

Re: [flygoddess] My customized pontoon - Sergino - 01-16-2009

I have 2 gel batteries from 40A (around 70lb). If I make some afternoon exits I use only one.
Motive is very simple, meanwhile the pontoon weighs a lot less than a boat, secondarily I use only together the two motors for the long moves, for the fishing I use only anterior trolling.
For the ice fishing, the us it is severely forbidden, in the region of the mountains, where the trouts there are, from September up to the end of March it is forbidden any type of fishing.

Well since you can't ice fish there then I guess you need to come over here and give it a try.[Smile]

If during the summer you come in Italy, if you want to stop you a few days to the north, to fishing, you are the welcome one. I live to 70 km from Venice.

Buon Giorno,

Per Troppo no parlo bene pui. Abitavo a sicilia per due anni, ma estata quasi vent anni fa. O dimenticato la lingua. E fortunato que a quest web site parliamo la lingua della pescato.[cool] Spero di incantrarsi sulla web di nuovo.

I have no idea if that is anywhere near correct. I haven't spoken Italian in years.
