]Fished Devil Creek with my brother-in-law. We caught lots of rainbows and a couple of cuttthroat. We also caught some largemouth bass. How long have the Bass been in there? It was a great day on the ice.[signature]

I am headed up from Utah next weekend to fish Devil Creek. If you don't mind me asking how deep is the lake? What types of tackle would you recommend? Her in central Utah we fish with ratfinki's and meal worms?

Hello cwp, I'm from Ytah as well. We were using ratfinkies tipped with a wax worm. The lake has varios depths most people were fishing close to the shore lines. In about 20 feet of water right on the bottom. There were some folks out from the ramp killing the trout using corn. I hope this helps. Good luck

Does anyone know what condition the ice is in on Devil's?
We have been getting a little rain the last few days on the northern Utah border.
With the Derby a week away, I sure hope the ice is holding up.
A fellow co-worker joined the polar bear club there at Devil's on x-mas eve. Took the plunge twice before he got off the ice. He is the second close call on that pond this winter.
Is corn really Legal ??

Yes, it is. I personally won't use it as I consider it un-ethical since fish can't digest it. Still, it is legal here.

You can't digest it , it just passes through . Same with fish . It does not hurt the fish , if it did we could not use it . They eat snails and crawfish , you think a kernal of corn is going to hurt them . Curt G.

I have always heard that it kills fish and from my knowledge it is banned in at least 5 states that I know of....Your logic makes sense, I just wonder why it would be illegal in most other states.

Corn is legal in Idaho as long as you are not chumming using it. It is difficult for fish to digest but I really do not think a single kernal is the problem. The problem comes when people dump handfuls down the hole and fish come in to hit it. I have caught fish with corn coming out both ends. I imagine it can plug them up pretty good if there is a lot of it in the water. If everyone follows the law and only uses a kernal or two I do not think it will be a problem for the fish. Certain kinds of corn are prefered by the Kokanee fishermen.

I just drove past Devil a few hours ago, and it looks like it got a fresh dusting of snow this morning. Looked good and several out there. A few by the dam and others scattered along the shore line with one by dock.
As far as the corn, I do agree that one kernel couldn't hurt, it is the chumming that is the problem. It USE to be legal in Utah, but I am sure someone or several someones just ruined it for all.
No big deal though as there is allot of other choices...but that ONE KERNEL can be deadly[cool]
I don't know personally as I fly fish, but my nephew sure does great with that ONE kernel!
