xmas break - BigE - 12-30-2008
[cool]I know this is the Nevada board but I would like to share.Since I wasn't getting any love from our local stripers,I went to California to try the surf fishing that I miss. Went out sunday 12/28 and got only one bite; but it was worth it. One leopard shark 48.5 inches at 18.6 lbs. Nice 15 min. fight on 20lb test on 11' pole. I haven't cooked shark in awhile but I got alot of meat to try out.

Awesome. I love a good leopard shark steak. Got one a few years back in Dana Point, CA that went 30lbs. Great fight, great eating. Lots of fun.

[cool]Hey stripercraze, I used frozen squid cut in two inch square pieces. Used a two hook leader with a 4 oz. weight and cast it out as far as possible.

Nice fish! Catch them in San Franciso Bay sometimes. Hassle to clean, great to eat! Hard to beat a leopard shark steak.
