Magic - iwantabuggy - 12-27-2008

Hit Magic on Tuesday. It was pretty good once we made it out into deep enough water (~12 ft). About 4 inches of blue ice topped with 0-2 inches of white ice over the portions of the reservior that we were on. I kept one additional fish that was as big as the biggest one in the picture, but it got eaten before the pic was taken.

Good Job. How big are the perch this year? I am not asking for GPS coordinates but what general area of the lake were you fishing?

Thanks

Have you been to Magic before? The level of the lake is just a little over 1/2 full and I was fishing between East and West Magic. Went again yesterday. Didn't take any pictures of the perch, but came home with about 10. One of them was around 12 inches. The rest were about 7-9. The trout were nice. I ended catching 4 that were in the 18-19 inch range. (Practicing for that tournament at Devil's Creek).

Yes I have fished there a couple of times ,but I do not know the lake well. I fished off of East Magic both times I have been there.

The jugs are for used motor oil (or in other words, fuel for my heater). I was looking, but I don't have a picture of the heater. I'll take one next time I am out and post it here. It is very handy.[sly]

Wow that is a heater although I would not want to pack it around the ice.[laugh]

It's not as bad as you'd think. The heater only weighs about 15 lbs. It's the fuel that is heavy, and if I plan well, I only have to pull it one way.
