Willow Beach trout - S.P.Y. - 12-26-2008
Anyone know if they still stock the trout on the shallow water right next too the island to the left of the marina?
That is where the stockers used to go, now I dont know and my pop wants to go out on Sunday and try for trout, anyone know how the fishing has been there recently?

In the past we have fished by the south side of the marina and done real well from the shore.

Just for your information they have suspended the trout stocking at willow beach while the hatchery gets a physical. They are still planting trout up at lake mead on fridays. Two spots on boulder and crawdad cove. Hope this helps.

If you go to Lake Mead for trout, I'd stick to crawdad cove. There is a kinda gnarly dirt road getting down there, so bring a good vehicle. I saw big schools of trout holding shallow in the backs of coves near weeds and other shallow cover. I caught a few tossing a krokodile spoon in like 2 feet of water. Good luck out there.

Cool, thanks for the info guys-looks like we might not be going after all. The lake sounds better. Ive been to Crawdad Cove a couple of times..I remember it was easy to get stuck down there.
