Fishing buddy through the ice. - iwantabuggy - 12-16-2008

Anyone using a fishing buddy fish finder throught the ice? If so, I am wondering. If the transducer does not extend past the bottom of the ice, will you still get accurate readings?

Yes I do use it and the only time the transducer would be affected is the side view if it's not below the ice. You are even able to pickup your jig when it's adjusted right.

I have include a picture of a holder that I made, I have since cut it off to be just a half circle.

I have also seen people use 5 gallon paint bucket lids with the pour hole lid popped out. The fishing buddy fits it perfectly and the lid sits very nicely over the holes.
