My boys had a blast fishing today!! Pics - migrod - 10-05-2008 My oldest B.Rod with a double header. Caught both Bluegill and African Tilapia at the same time with a double jig rig. My youngest J.Rod with a monster Mexican Mayan Cichlid!! Mayans fight pound for pound equal to the legendary Peacock Bass!! This is my catch, a good sized spawning African Spotted Tilapia. I find nothing wrong with eating any fish, I just mostly fish for the sport of it. Well, even though these fish are exotics, these particular species have been a breeding population here for many years. They are found in just about every lake, so I felt no need to kill them if I wasn't going to eat them. If I wouldv'e caught a species such as a Snakehead or Walking catfish which are rare here and don't have a high breeding population I might harvest those since they are very destructive. Take care.
