I would like to know what is everyone's favorite handheld GPS and what you like about it. Ease of use? Weight? Reliability? Manufacturer and model? Price? Dislikes? Weatherproofing? Etc....

i have an old garmin i bought when i first started hunting . now that i am more experianced at finding my way thru the woods , i use it to mark some holes for ice fishing season . pretty reliable , but way out of date .

[font "Arial"][size 2]I don’t know a lot about them. I have a Magellan GPS 310. This unit is simply to use, light weight, and works fine so far. The only thing I dislike is you have to be moving for it to work. It’s ok for boating but if you are walking you have to walk fast for it to work. hope this helps you.[/size][/font]

I have two Gps units, the first one I bought was a Garmin II+ it is a nice simple unit. Very accurate,but doesn't have a map and you have to move to determine direction you are moving. The second is a Garmin Etrex Vista, it is smaller lighter has a map and you can download marine maps, street maps, topo maps, it has a compass that works when you are standing still, altimeter,barometer,moon phases, hunt-fish screen that tells you best times for fishing in your location, and many more features that you probably will never use. It also has a WAAS receiver which is supposed to be more accurate. The only gripe I have is it is a litte harder to use than the older simpler model.John

I use a Garmin 12, several years old, but works great.
Hiking in the woods, marking spots on the lake while trolling, or intersections. The best part is the battery lasts months..
