Anyone ever accidentally hooked a dolphin? I don't think anyone would intentionally fish for dolphin but I've never heard/read any stories.

That was funny that you brought this up.
About 3 yeas ago, on one of my Barracuda fishing trips I accidently hooked into one.
I was using a Newell 447 spool with @350yds of 20lb test. It took all but 17 seconds to spool me into a Zing Pow situation.
I think they are much faster than the Sunfish that we have in California.[cool]

1 year me and my guys were out fishing for kingfish and we ran across a school. them dam fish love to run! really good fight!

We were catching Skip Jack like crazy in Dena Piont California when a school of dolphin cam through. I couldn't believe we didn't hook one because they were everywhere. I have been around them a few times and always thought they were to smart to take a bait, good to know they might so i don't hook into one!
