Equilizer hitches - fairwayphilly - 08-15-2008 I just bought a new camper and it was very apparent after the first outing that I need to get an equilizer hitch for controling the sway. I've found the Reece style hitches with the chains and arms for around $200 on the internet, but I've herd the Equiliz - R brand is better, but they are around $500 and up. My question is are the chain style good enough to get me by for say 10 outing a year or are they a complete waste of money. I don't mind paying for quality, I just want to be sure the extra $300 is money well spent. I bought a new 26' trailer a few years ago and the dealership threw in the Reese Chain style hitch. I thought I got a good deal until a hit the highway. My trailer swayed so much the trip from the dealer was the only trip my trailer made with the Reese hitch. Before my next trip I bought the Equal-i-zer hitch that is made for weight distribution and anti sway. I love it and reccommend you spend the extra cash, you won't be disapointed. If I had to buy one it would be tne equilizer brand see if you can find a used one for half the price on ksl [signature] Re: [ONEMORE] Equilizer hitches - fairwayphilly - 08-15-2008 been checking KSL regularly, but everyone has straight shank hitches.
