Question for the Carp fisherman here.... - kansasrockchalk - 08-06-2008 What types of fly patterns do you use on the carp? I am in Southwest Idaho here and know of several rivers and ponds with healthy carp populations and thought I would give it a whirl one of these nights, but have no idea where to start fly wise. Thanks in advance! Also small crawfish patterns. I hear woolly buggers work also. Any nymph really, small crystal buggers. The most important thing is getting the fly in front of them and at their level, once you do that I have found they will hit almost anything. Haven't tried it. Maybe some water repellent for flies and cotton ???? Just thinking out loud.[ ![]() Leaky and the Sparkinator P.S. Have you tied eatin any? Yum!
