Weber River Smallies? - MI_Steelheader - 07-08-2008
This morning, while fishing the Weber at Wanship I landed a pretty respectable (by Utah bass standards)smallmouth on a big sculpin. I had no idea there were any smallies in that stretch. That's a pretty good hike from Echo. Maybe he got washed down from Rockport.
Incidentally, the browns liked the sculpin just as much as the smallmouth. The biggest brown landed was about 16 inches. All in all, not a bad way to start the day and all before work!

i've heard of them being in there, but never seen one. this makes me want to fish streamers more often on that stretch now, great job

Never caught a SWB in that river, but have fished streamers there with much success. I love that section of the river. Glad it worked for you.
