Kolob/quail creek or other - Lonnie - 05-06-2003 I'm headed to the st george area to do some finish work in 2 homes for a freind from 5/7-5/12.I hope to have it go fast enough to allow me some evening fishing time.My question is where would be the best spot?(1-2 hour fishing trips)Quail lake?are the bass hitting?I would really like to hit kolob, can it be reached in 2wd?(work truck) How long of a drive is it from washington? My time will be very limited and where I can go will be dependent on how the finish is going(I need to complete both homes in 4 days)Any info would help me decide on where to go.After all not going would be an unforgivable sin and not an option! Thanks in advance Lonnie [signature] Re: [Lonnie] Kolob/quail creek or other - hedgesd - 05-06-2003 If you only have 2 hours of free time I'd say Quail or the urban fishing area's like stratton. The drive up to Kolob is around 45 minutes to a hour of switchbacks and up hill all the way. Good luck with the houses. If you have the time, it has a whole lot better fishing than Quail does right now. If you try an urban pond, I would suggest the Tawa ponds in Santa Clara. Stratton hasn't been too good the last time I fished it, but then again, I haven't gone there in a long time. You might also try Baker with a tube jig for some of those monster browns.[ ][signature] Re: [Lonnie] Kolob/quail creek or other - ReelMN - 05-07-2003 On Quail towards the no wake zone on the far end of the lake is alright from a boat. It has some reeds underwater for the fish to hide around. [signature] |
