Henrys lake/ Island Park????????? - BS - 05-09-2008
I was just wondering if anybodys driven up through Island Park lately??
1- How much snow is on the ground in IP?
2- Is Henrys Lake still frozen?

My father in law went to Yellowstone last weekend and said that there was 2.5-3 feet of now left in Island Park, and that Henrys looked solid still. He said it looked like there was a little water around the edges, but couldnt get a clear look from the highway. It might still be frozen on the opener. Thats ok.....should keep the crowds down!!!! I am expecting it(the fishing)to be hotter than hell when the ice goes off, especially during the midge hatch. [

Ice fishing on the opener would be kind of cool, but camping in the snow would suck.
As long as the road to the boat ramp at the bottom of Island Park dam is open, I'am good.

I came through yesterday and Henry's is frozen solid. This cool weather will probably keep it that way for a little while longer.

State of Idaho has more web cams up these days. There's one near Henry's now that gives you an idea of what's happening in the weather. Doesn't show the lake though.

] Thanks for the link to the camera...[cool]I'm normally on the Utah threads, but looked you guys/gals up to see what's goin on at Henry's.
I've seen later threads that say the ice is nearly broken up, just needs a good wind to clear it off.
I was up there on the opener last year in a major snow storm AND bug hatch at the same time. Pretty weird[crazy]

Reelady, Thanks for the link, I've been using it and watching the snow melt a little bit everyday.
Just got a report that the ice came off Henrys this morning!!! And the road to the boat ramp at the bottom of IP dam is clear but rough.
