Clear Lake - Biglew - 03-11-2008
Has anybody heard anything about conditions at Clear Lake, in Hagerman? I'm contemplating a trip down soon, and would like to know if it's worth the trip.

We (my 2 brothers, my oldest kid, and my Dad) will be there this up coming weekend. Hopefully it is doing well. We always seem to catch a few..... some years have been better than others. I'm as curious as you Biglew....... anyone been there recently?

Well..... We spent Saturday and Sunday at Clear Lake. Sorry about the late report. The fishing was great! The weather was a little stormy.... but I like fishing in overcast conditions. There were plenty of fish and they were more than willing to take our offerings. We mostly fished with a dry/dropper combination. Good times! It was well worth the trip. We usually keep a few for a fish fry, but they have changed the rules on keeping fish. You used to could be able to keep 2 fish per day, but now you cannot keep any.

Sounds like you had a good time. Thanks for the report. With $4/gallon diesel, I wouldn't want to drive all that way, and not have the possibility of a good day.
